Petitions
Have an issue that you would like to raise in Parliament?
Gathering signatures from like minded Canadians is a great way to get your message across to Members of Parliament and Nathan is always pleased to present petitions on behalf of constituents. Just follow these easy steps to ensure your voice is heard:
1) Consult the House of Commons Petition Guide
Petitions to the House of Commons must meet specific criteria in order to be accepted. For example, petitions must be on regular paper, clearly indicate the subject matter on every page, and must contain a minimum of 25 valid signatures with addresses. See the online guide for more details and sample petitions.
2) Send us a draft of your petition to ensure it will be accepted by the House of Commons
Even if you are pretty sure you have followed all the guidelines, we can have drafts approved by a Clerk of the House of Commons to make sure that they will be accepted before you go out to gather signatures.
Email your drafts to cullen@parl.gc.ca
3) Gather as many signatures as possible
The minimum number of signatures is 25, but there is no maximum! Email your petition to other friends and allies so they can print them and collect signatures as well.
NOTE: Remember that in order to be accepted, signatures must be accompanied by an address including city and province
4) Mail your completed petitions to our office
Send your petitions to our Ottawa office. No Postage Required!
