Cullen Campaign Earns National Media Attention

Smithers – “The nation is watching Skeena-Bulkley Valley in this campaign,” said incumbent MP Nathan Cullen, who is running for re-election in the current federal election. “One of our main jobs has been to bring the voice of the Northwest to Ottawa and the country, rather than the other way around and it is good to see the attention we’re gathering.”

Cullen’s observations come as three national media outlets have come to the riding of Skeena-Bulkley Valley in the past week to get Cullen’s views on the federal election.

Cullen appeared on CTV’s Canada AM on Tuesday morning and later in the week on CBC Newsworld to discuss the New Democrat’s environmental agenda.
On Friday, CPAC, Canada’s political affairs channel, came to the riding to find out how campaigning in a northern, rural riding differ from urban ridings.

“I welcome the chance to show off this amazing corner of BC to the nation,” said Cullen. “And even more importantly, I welcome the opportunity to highlight the issues and concerns of the people of this region on the national stage. These media opportunities are a great chance for our stories to be heard by everyone in Canada.”

Since being elected in 2004, Cullen has often appeared in the national media speaking about northwestern issues and as a spokesman for Canada’s New Democrats.
